[ ABOUT ]

Technologyalignedwith design.

Technology, design, and experience. Not two dimensions. Three.

[ THE STORY ]
Too many products are built by people who've never had to use them.

alignz started with a simple frustration: too many digital products are built either by engineers who don't think about design, or by designers who don't understand systems. The result is software that looks fine but feels broken. Or software that works technically but nobody wants to use.

We built Druckwerk first. A production ordering platform for a print shop: real requirements, real constraints, real users. It forced us to think in three dimensions: the workflow logic, the user experience, and the integration with physical production systems. That depth became the foundation for everything alignz does.

From there the scope widened. Healthcare practices running on paper and spreadsheets. Organisations with brilliant people trapped in broken processes. Businesses that had outgrown their tools but didn't know what to replace them with. The problems were different. The pattern was the same.

alignz builds across mobile, automation, SaaS platforms, design, infrastructure, and AI because real problems rarely fit inside one discipline. The work is always specific. The approach is always the same: understand the workflow, then build something that survives it.

[ THE FOUNDER ]

"Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.

/ STEVE JOBS

I learned what software is for on a factory floor. My first years as an engineer were at a precision manufacturer in Vorarlberg, then in the US writing C++ for production logistics, the kind of code that has to run every shift, without drama, or the line stops. A stint in the automotive industry, including half a year in China, reinforced the same lesson in a different accent: software either survives Monday morning or it doesn't.

The longest chapter came after: more than a decade inside a private group in Vaduz, spanning wealth management, digital ventures, classic cars, and renewable energy. The scope widened beyond engineering: events, campaigns, social media, design. Building things and communicating them. That combination is where the full picture came together.

Running through all of it has been one constant: Steve Jobs as a reference point since childhood, not the mythology, but the standard. The insistence that technology and craft are not in tension, that the people who care about both make the things worth using. That conviction never left.

alignz is what I built from it. Design and engineering for clients who care about the same things: work that holds up, software that actually fits, products worth shipping. Based in Widnau and Zurich, working wherever the problem is interesting.

[ VALUES ]

What we stand for.

These aren't company values written for a pitch deck. They're the things that actually shape how we work and what we build.

[ DEPTH ]

The third dimension.

Surfaces aren't enough. We work in depth: into the design, the system, the problem. That's where the Z axis makes the difference.

[ CRAFT ]

Obsessively detailed.

We care about the things most people skip. Transitions, edge cases, loading states, error messages. A product that works beautifully is a product people trust.

[ ALIGNMENT ]

Technology and design, together.

The best products aren't built when designers and engineers work in sequence. They're built when they work as one. That's how we work.

[ PRAGMATISM ]

AI where it adds value. Not everywhere.

We're not chasing hype. We automate what should be automated, apply intelligence where it genuinely helps, and leave humans in control of the judgement calls.
